It can sometimes be problematic for some people to understand the difference between soar and sore probably because they sound the same. They have different meanings though. When you say soar, this means that you are flying high.

This can often be used to describe animals like birds that can fly high up in the sky. When you say “soar,” this also means that you have the ability to reach something that is beyond your expected level.

When you say sore, this means that something can be inflamed or that you are feeling some resentment. For instance, when you say “sore spot,” this means that it is a topic that you may have strong negative feelings for.
