Abraxane and Taxol are both taxanes medicines, a type of powerful chemotherapy that stops cancer cells from regenerating themselves. Taxol needs a solvent called Cremophor EL to dissolve the medicine so it can gain passage into the bloodstream, while Abraxane does not use solvent because it is wrapped in albumin, which is the main protein of human blood plasma.

Abraxane chemical name is albumin-bound, while Taxol chemical name is Paclitaxel. Taxol is a new chemotherapy medicine tested and trusted by researchers; it stops advanced breast cancer from growing longer better than Abraxane. People take medicine before receiving Taxol to reduce the effect of the solvent; no medicine is required before the intake of Abraxane. Taxol can be used once a week for women diagnosed with advanced-stage breast cancer before they start their chemotherapy.

These two are known to be types of Taxanes. These are known to be chemotherapy drugs that are meant to stop the spread of the cancer cells throughout the body. Abraxane and Taxol are known to be similar to each other, but they are different types of Paclitaxel.

Taxol will make use of a different type of solvent called Cremophor EL so that the medicine will be able to enter the bloodstream, and the effect can be faster. There are some researches that are still being done about these types of Taxanes just to know which one is more effective. Abraxane is known to have more benefits, but Taxol is a solvent-based which can make it easier to use and spread.
