Nest Secure was established in the year 2010 in the Nest Labs by two former Apple engineers while SimpliSafe was established in 2006 by Chad and Eleanor Laurans, who are both students of the Harvard Business School as at then. SimpliSafe has its headquarter in Boston, Massachusetts, the U.S., while the headquarter of Nest Secure is in Palo Alto, California, U.S. Nest Secure is more costly in comparison to SimpliSafe.

The Nest Secure starter kit costs about $400 while the same kit goes for approximately $280 at SimpliSafe. Also, Nest Secure is more costly when talking about professional monitoring, so also if additional sensors are needed. If you would love to enjoy the remote control feature, then you will have to pay for a package which is called Interactive Professional monitoring if you it is SimpliSafe that you're using. However, remote monitoring is free if it is nest secure that you are dealing with.
