The configuration of the crossover cable and the ethernet cable will be different from each other. The ethernet cable will be used in order to connect two different types of devices that are available. Crossover cables, on the other hand, will be used to connect and network two similar devices with each other.

There is no need to use hubs and routers anymore to make sure that the devices can connect to each other perfectly. There are some people who may get confused with the type of cable that they have. Check if the colors are wired together just to be sure.
