Both iron and gold are metals that have been used for a very long time. Gold has an atomic number of 79, whereas the atomic number of iron is 26. Fresh iron comes in silver, while gold comes in a shiny yellow color. Iron is located on the earth’s crust and core, while gold appears as nuggets in rocks and sedimentary deposits.

Iron metal rusts, while gold does not. Iron has a higher melting point of 1535 degrees, while gold comes with a 1062-degree melting point. Another difference between the two is that iron is magnetic, and gold is not. When compared to iron, gold is chemically dormant. In terms of price, gold is more expensive.
