Both TIFF and JPG are file formats for keeping pictures. TIFF is the abbreviation for Tagged Image File Format; JPG stands for Joint Photographic Expert Group. TIFF saves the image file with almost no compression. It is utilized for storing pictures that need to be modified and re-saved. JPEG is the most frequently used format for photographs.

It is perfect for color photographs or images with many mixtures or gradients. JPEG is a technique of lossy compression for digital photography. This compression means that while saving the picture, there is a marginal loss of quality. TIFF is common among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and professional and amateur photographers.
