Cobra is derived as a shortened name for "Ford Mustang SVT Cobra." The full meaning of SVT is the Special Vehicle Team, which happens to be a branch of the famous car manufacturing company -Ford. Cobra happens to be one of the high-performance vehicles manufactured by the SVT. The vehicle prototype was introduced in the year 1980, after which it was well received in the market, and it has sales till the 2000s.

On the other hand, the GT was built and introduced between 2003 and 2006 by the same Ford Company, and it was considered as one of the supercars of the company. The credit for the design of this vehicle was given to the "Living Legend studio head": Camilo Pardo. The inspiration seems to have come from the previous version of the GT, which is the GT40. The cobra, however, is considered to be sportier and powerful than the GT.

The GT and Cobra are both created by Mustang, and people are usually confused with which one they should get for themselves. The Cobra has long been a prototype, but it was only in the year 1993. The GT was first considered to be a concept car, but a year later, which is in 2004, it was also released to the public.

If you are searching for a vehicle that comes with more power, you know that the Cobra will be considered more powerful as compared to the GT. The design team that was in charge of creating the GT and the Cobra are also different from each other. Take note that there are some newer models that are available for both Mustang car lines, and you can choose whichever you think will be more ideal for you.
