Choose and chose are known to be two words that have the same meaning, but you will use them differently depending on the tense that you need to use. For example, when you use to choose, this means that you are going to pick one thing over another item at that particular time.

For instance, you might say, “I choose the chocolate cake over the red velvet cake.” Choose is in the simple present tense while the word chosen is in the past tense. Once again, they mean the same thing, but you will use the word "chose" when you are already done with choosing. For example, you can say, “I chose the chocolate cake over the red velvet cake earlier.”
