Some people think that gophers and ground squirrels are the same because they somewhat look the same, but actually, they have some differences because they are two different creatures. Gophers are known to remain underground, especially since they have created their own plugged holes. If ever they would need to get out, this will not be an issue as they do not plug the top portion of their homes.

Ground squirrels may usually be out of their homes, and they would usually live in colonies. This means that they can be with several other squirrels at a time. Some people consider gophers and ground squirrels to be pests and would like them to be far from their properties.
