Sound editing and sound mixing are both technical topics that are associated with video creation, whether the video is a short one, an amateur flick, a TV show, or it is a movie. A whole lot of people think that sound editing and sound mixing are actually one and the same thing, but then the two topics are actually very different from each other, so as to that they can be differentiated.

The main disparity between Sound Editing and sound mixing is in the order at which they are carried out in the process of production. Sound editing is usually done and must actually be done before sound mixing can be carried out.

Sound editing usually alters or changes the features and attributes of the sound, while sound mixing would not alter the characteristics of sound. Sound mixing is basically concerned with quality, proper, and appropriate interaction between the multiple sound sources.
