Grout and Mortar are two examples of materials that are made with cement, and they are used majorly for construction. While both are made with things like sand, cement, and water, there are some differences between the two. First, when making grout, you are going to need a large amount of water when mixing the cement and sand plus other materials depending on the nature of grout you want to make whereas, for mortar, all you need is a small amount of water when mixing the cement and sand.

Another major difference between the two is that grout is used majorly to bond bricks or stones together. Once it is applied, it becomes very hard after some time. On the other hand, grout is used to stick to ceramic tiles or stone tiles together. Once it is applied, it also becomes very hard, but its hardness cannot be compared with that of mortar.
