There are many types of plastic, and Lucite is one of them. There is a type of shopping bag that carries groceries and bottled water. Plastic is classified as a synthetic or semi-synthetic polymer. A polymer consists of several repeated subunits that are known as monomers, and they are strung together.

There exists a broad range of properties that are natural and synthetic. There are also several types of plastic. For example, Styrofoam plastic, which usually comes in the form of coffee cups they carry in hospitals or certain groups, is a plastic-type. Lucite, on the other hand, is a product brand name.

It is the brand name of DuPont’s acrylic type of material, which has plastic and glass properties, which means it is clear. It is heavier compared to the typical plastic, and it is also more- dense. It is used for windows and modern furniture design due to its strength, crystal clarity, and flexibility. It is also resistant to wind, UV Rays, and water.

It can be confusing when there are so many items that you need to know about. Are you familiar with lucite and plastic? Lucite is known to be a type of plastic, but it may have some qualities that you will not usually see in plastics. Lucite is also known to have other names such as acrylic glass, Plexiglass, and Perspex. This was first used to make a transparent type of glass.

By the time that 1960s rolled around, people were already using it to make jewelry. The composition of lucite and plastic are also different from each other. Plastic will be composed of Methyl Methacrylate and Poly Methyl Methacrylate. Lucite is usually composed of pigments, stabilizers, and so much more.
