Most autoimmune diseases are not fatal. However, autoimmune diseases are not curable. They are chronic illnesses. Many people with autoimmune conditions that the disease makes them uncomfortable. In fact, it can interfere with the day to day activity of an individual. It can make life unbearable for many.

However, Giant Cell Myocarditis (GCM) is a fatal autoimmune disease. It is a rare type of autoimmune disease where the immune cells cause inflammation of the heart muscles. This can cause chest pain, abnormal heartbeats, heart failure, and, eventually, death.

This rare type of autoimmune disease is common in young and middle-aged adults. It progresses rapidly, as well. Most people with this condition will require a heart transplant at some point.

A lot of autoimmune diseases can make the lives of people very uncomfortable. Some even say that they feel that their disease is making life seem more unbearable, but most autoimmune diseases are not fatal. There are instances, though, when the body becomes too weak that it is unable to fight against itself. That is the only time when it can become fatal.

Usually, the antibodies may target a specific organ of the body, and that part of the body stops functioning normally. That is the time when the autoimmune disease can become fatal. One of the deadliest autoimmune diseases is Giant Cell Myocarditis. It makes the heart muscle become inflamed, which can cause death.

A study has demonstrated that giant cell myocarditis is a fatal autoimmune disease. It is quite rare, and the main symptoms are inflammation of the heart muscle. Grave's disease can also be life-threatening. It is caused by hyperthyroidism. A couple of other signs of the disease includes eye problems skin issues. If the illness goes untreated, it could lead to life-threatening results. The primary health concern is a thyroid storm (blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate are all elevated to an alarming degree).

Another fatal autoimmune disease is called Addison's disease, which is a primary adrenal insufficiency. The process occurs when your immune system attacks your adrenal glands. These glands are situated on top of your kidneys. Your kidneys are responsible for the control of many of the hormones your body needs to function correctly.
