Some people may assume that the first mammals are humans but this is not true. Studies show that the first mammal may have been Eozostrodon and this started to live during the late Triassic period. There are still different reports about what the very first mammal may have been. Some are saying that Morganucodondits may be one of the earliest mammals that the world has seen.

They may have started to live more than 210 million years ago. According to some studies, they may have been creatures that are similar to how the shrew looks like. Funny thing is most of the early mammals look similar to the shrew.

Morganucodontids are tiny shrew-size creatures. They are said to be the first mammals that lived. They were one of several mammal lineages that emerged around the time. It is believed that all living mammals today, including humans, descend from the one line that survived. This early mammaliaform genus existed and lived during the late Triassic period.

They first appeared about 210 million years ago when dinosaurs were the dominant animals. Some fossils of this tiny shrew size creature have been found in Yunnan Province in China (Morganucodon oehleri) and many other parts of Europe and North America. Over the years, evolution has happened, and mammals have evolved.
