Yom Kippur is an important day for Jewish people to reflect on their past mistakes and turn to God through genuine repentance. The kind of prayers that are sung during Yom Kippur is based on confession. Examples of prayers that are said on Yom Kippur are; Tefillah zakkah, Kol Nidrei, Ma'ariv, Shacharit, Yizkor. Tefillah Zakah is a special prayer that is centered on the need for people to seriously examine their conscience and pray to God for a pure mind.

Kol Nidrei is another special prayer, and it is not a type of prayer you say individually. It is a type of prayer that is led by a leader, and it is said so that different vows of people can be rendered invalid. Ma'ariv is a type of prayer in which people recite certain verses of the Bible like Leviticus 16:30. Shacharit is a special prayer that is offered to God so that he can continue to rule over the entire world. This prayer is repeated a number of times. Yizkor is also known as memorial prayers. This type of prayer is said on behalf of the departed relatives and those who died while defending Israel.
