Oktoberfest is the most popular and biggest beer festival throughout the world. Every year, people gather to celebrate this festival in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Oktoberfest lasts for a period of 16 to 18 days. Oktoberfest celebration starts mostly from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. From the name, one can easily figure out what it stands for; that is, a particular festival which is celebrated in October.

Oktoberfest is considered to be the largest beer festival because it is celebrated by over 6 million people on a yearly basis. This festival actually started in the year 1810; it is one of the most cherished things about the Bavarian culture. Since the festival is centered mostly on beer consumption, a great quantity of beer is consumed during the celebration; at times, it goes up to something around 7.7 million liters. Tourists usually seize the opportunity to enjoy themselves. Other events of the celebration include; sports, amusement rides, music, games, etc.

Oktoberfest is the world's biggest Volksfest (beer festival and traveling funfair). It is a sixteen to the eighteen-day folk festival which runs from mid or late September to the first Sunday in October. During the festivities, enormous quantities of Oktoberfest beer are consumed. There are also numerous attractions, including amusement rides, side stalls, parades, and games.

There is a unique variety of traditional foods available. The Munich Oktoberfest initially took place in the sixteen days leading up to the first Sunday in October. Other cities around the world also have Oktoberfest celebrations that are shaped after the original Munich event. In its present form, the parade had taken place since 1935, when the breweries were first introduced.
