We can utilize philosophy as a concept to understand both the physical world and the world of ideas. We can use it to weigh the pros and cons and make better decisions. Moral philosophy can help us to become better people.

I really don't think this is true. Philosophy shouldn't be regarded as a waste of time in its entirety. Although, philosophy may seem dependent and limited in its ability to arrive at a particular truth, nevertheless, it has been able to make so many contributions by coming with thought-provoking issues that could be analyzed through other means of knowledge like science. A lot of people see philosophy as a waste of time because they have little or no understanding of what it entails.

Philosophy will make you be logical and critical in your reasoning. This is actually the bedrock for most discoveries and inventions we enjoy today. The reality of what philosophy covers is the main reason why we have a subject like the philosophy of science. However, if we are to discuss the relevance of philosophy in relation to physical things or something practical, then philosophy can be seen as a waste of time.
