Where these two runs are different from each other. The ASP runs on VBScript so that the code will be thoroughly read and used. ASPX runs on .Net framework. ASP is normally used for Windows interface and will be easy to use due to the web-scripting environment. This is also considered to be more versatile because it will have the ability to support the other models that are available.

ASPX stands for Active Server Page Extended will contain different scripts and codes that will allow the web browser to know how the web page that is being accessed by the user should be displayed. Even the way that it will be opened will be done through the help of the ASPX.
