It may seem in the beginning that the head of state and the head of the government are the same, but these are different from each other and two different people also hold the positions. The head of the state is known to have a lot of ceremonial duties while the head of the government will be in charge of running the whole country.

Of course, it will be hard for just one person to run the entire country so he would rely on his reliable cabinet team members for advice on different things that need to be done for the country as a whole. The head of state will exhibit signs of having political power and will use that power to improve the state in general.

Head of government is the head of a parliamentary form of government while the head of state is the leader in the presidential form of government. Countries have varied powers, and different ways of running a nation, and the two among these are the head of state and the head of government.
