Python and Matlab are both high-level programming languages, whereas Python is a general-purpose programming language used to develop applications or other software tools. Matlab is a commercial programming language and interactive environment for numerical computing and programming. With Python, there is no interactive UI development platform.

However, Matlab does have an interactive UI development platform. Python is far more expressive and readable compared to Matlab’s scripts; it also is more of a comprehensive numerical functionality. Python graphics rely on external packages. However, Matlab’s graphical capabilities are impeccable.
