Nectarines and peach are fruits or plants of similar species (Prunus persica). They also belong to the same plant family and grow on shrubs and trees around the world. These two fruits look so similar that the difference may not be understood until you get closer and touch it with your hand. Peaches are softer than nectarines when ripe, and usually more prominent too. Peaches flavoring varies from cream yellow to red.
