The musicals refer to a staging of performances, which include singing, dancing, and dialogue to depict a story, while an opera has to do with the use of classical music to sing a story. The musical seems a little bit wider than opera. The musical can be done in your own preferred language, depending most likely on the audience. For example, the United States and the United Kingdom use the English language for their musical presentations. However, opera has to be done in a specific native way.

There are several opera styles in different languages, such as Italian opera, Russian opera, English language opera, French opera, and German-language opera. Every one of these languages has its own different styles of performance. The performers of musicals are trained to dance and to express their presentation with emotions. On the other hand, opera performers are well trained to sing, and they do less dancing, but sometimes accompanied by the libretto.

Before going into their differences, you should know that both musical and opera are stage performances where musicians sing, dance, together with the presentation of spoken dialogue to present a story. Musicals, unlike opera, can be performed on television show or film show. Musicians performing musicals tend to use modern music styles as part of their presentation while on stage. Musicals are practiced in theatres. Operas, on the other hand, are just like musicals which are mostly practiced on stage but they are less performed on Television or film show. Opera is a theatrical work which combining drama, music, song and some special dance steps.

It should be noted that the main focus of a musicians performing musicals is based on the dramatic or literary presentation of the actors, music and dances are just making the whole thing lively. But a musician performing opera should be an excellent singer because opera is firstly based on music presentation, particularly classic ones.
