When you hear the word “gelato,” you should realize that this is the Italian word for ice cream. The base of this may be similar to ice cream, but it also makes use of more milk. If you would compare it to the ice cream that a lot of people know, it does not contain a lot of cream and eggs. There are also some differences between the two when it comes to churning.

The gelato is usually churned at a slower rate so that it can become dense and heavy. If you would compare the two, gelato usually has lesser air than ice cream. A lot of people choose gelato over the ice cream because it has fewer calories. Just remember that overeating of it can still be harmful to your diet.
