A boss manages their workers, while a leader inspires them to invent, cultivate creativity, and keep people open for the possibility of change. Leaders listen, teach, and learn. The stereotypical boss will command, interrupt, ignore, and will dominate conversations with no room for any opinion but their own.

A leader is someone who will lead. The leader does not necessarily have to be the boss. He may be someone who is appointed within the group to take charge of the delegation of the project. The leader is someone who is also known to have a lot of positive traits. He may listen to his group members and honor their ideas.

Leaders and bosses are both apart of businesses. While a leader is someone seen as positive and admirable, a boss has a negative connotation to it. Both are commanding roles, but leaders will help their employees meet the goal. Bosses will only give orders.
