Europe is the sixth largest continent in the world and it houses a number of developed and wealthy countries. What classifies a country to be a developed country is beyond the use of GDP per capita of the country. Developed countries are countries with improved economy, high infrastructure facilities, good educational system and a great level of policing strategies in order to maintain peace and stability in the country.

Europe as a continent, has a quite number of developed countries and those countries are members of the European Union. The primary parameter that is mostly used in classifying a country as a developed country is GDP per capita and the threshold for a country with good economy is the GDP per capita of at least $12,000.

Developed countries in Europe are; Czech Republic, Greece, France, Portugal, United Kingdom, Germany, Malta, Slovenia, Andorra, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Austria, Iceland, Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, San Marino, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Norway, Liechtenstein and Monaco.
