The United States left the Paris Climate Agreement for several reasons. One was that United States President Donald Trump felt that it would negatively impact the United States' economy and he was not willing to risk that. His whole objective has been to strengthen the economy of his country and he was not willing to do otherwise.

The second reason was that it seemed to be null and void of any real substance. And, when the countries met without the United States, nothing was accomplished so perhaps there was some truth to that theory. Within the agreement, the United States would be required to report all emissions use to the group and Trump felt like that would stiffle the growth of the United States economy.

And...maybe it would have. Many argue that it should have been done, regardless. Others side with Trump and say that he did right. No matter who feels which way, it is a done deal. The United States is not participating in the event.
