Couples in China are not so prone to show verbal affection. Their words may be few and they prefer to cuddle or hold hands while showing affection. This may be unusual for westerners, but for the Chinese, this is common. In general, most Asians are not prone to show much outward affection, neither verbal nor physical. Much of the asian culture leans in that direction and show less affection. There might be some change with the more recent younger generation, but that is often controlled by the older generation as they look down on it as inappropriate.

Their affection is often shown by doing things for their family members. They will go out of their way and spend their time, effort, and money to help their family members in whatever they need. This is their way of displaying their love and affection.
