How do you differentiate between a sea and an ocean?

Sometimes, it seems that people often use these words interchangeably. The ocean and the sea are not the same, although many have misunderstood these to be the same. The seas are significantly smaller than the oceans and are commonly located where the land and the ocean converge and meet. The smaller seas may be mostly surrounded by land and will be quite larger than a large pond, but they are connected with the ocean at some point.

But the ocean is a different matter altogether. The ocean is quite large and touches several continents together. Actually, most of the water in the earth is in the ocean and thus a large portion of the earth is covered with water because of the large size of the ocean.
