Doctors earn a very decent wage. However, they also go into massive debt when going through medical school so it can take several years to see a more substantial paycheck that stays in the bank a while. Per capita, doctors are in the top 15% of professions in the world. This is because they are in high demand, and there is always a need for their services. On average, doctors make around 75,000 dollars per year. This figure, however, is for non-specialized doctors.

Those who have gone into a specialized field such as Obstetrics or Orthopedics will see a higher wage than some. They can earn an average of around 140,000 dollars per year. With a medical degree, there are several things to keep in mind. One will have to carry medical malpractice insurance, which is costly, but a necessity when it comes to practicing medicine of any kind. This is another expense, on top of student loans that doctors have to cover.
