Elements are organized via the period table which lists the elements according to their atomic weight. In the periodic table, elements are
classified by their ability to gain and lose electrons.
The three general classes are metals (which lose electrons easily), nonmetals (which gainelectrons easily), and noble gasses (which neither gain nor lose electrons easily). Another group, called metalliods can both lose and gain electronsin moderation.
