Knowing what cataracts mean, their symptoms, and risks, the cure or treatment to cataracts should not be left behind. How are cataracts cured? The main cure for cataracts is through surgery. Still, there are several methods of surgery that can be used, such as phacoemulsification, extracapsular cataract extraction, and intracapsular cataract extraction. Meanwhile, phacoemulsification is the cataract surgery which is most widely used in the developed parts of the world.

Phacoemulsification is simply a cataract surgery process whereby the natural lens of the patient is been dissolved into liquid by ultrasonic vibration and then drained out of the eyes. Then the intraocular lens (IOL) is used to replace the natural lens. You might be thinking the surgery will be painful, but when the doctors might have put some necessary parameters into consideration, the surgery causes very little or no pain. It is usually a safe and successful surgery, and it can even help in curing some other eye infections.
