Ice hockey and field hockey may seem a lot alike. However, they do have some distinct differences, and these differences include the following. Ice hockey is more physical a sport than field hockey. Field hockey you can’t play the ball with just anything. You can only play with the front part of your stick, and that means no body parts. Ice hockey doesn’t have these restrictions. You can play with any part of your body literally. There are no rules for contacting other players so long as it isn’t dangerous or malicious in intent.

Ice hockey is also played on ice and field hockey is played on grass or turf. Ice hockey is played on ice and this makes it very fast, and field hockey isn’t as fast as skating is. Field hockey sticks are shorter in size. Players have to bend over, which does slow them down.
