It is an important question to ask if railway jobs are safe for women in India. The opinions vary according to the jobs they take up. If their job is centered in the railway station, there is a level of convenience for them as they may not be required to travel. For women with children and those who care for aging parents, this would be an inconvenience. In directly dealing with safety, there are many Lady Gazetted Officers working for the Railways. There is a culture of respect for women who work for the Railways. But of course, field jobs may not be as suited for women.

Even though we want to say that all jobs can be done for women, there are issues of safety that need to be considered. Those who work in offices can leave work at a decent time and can go home by 5 or 5:30pm at the latest. Safety is a high priority for the Railway authorities. Many women are engaged in clerical jobs at the offices, ticket counter, and many other duties even as station managers. So it is safe for women to work for the Indian Railways, but caution and wisdom is always best.

If you would like to see some women breaking the stereotypes then you definitely have to check the Indian Railway in order to see different women working. There are different jobs available there such as providing tickets, inspecting the railway coach, putting their knowledge of engineering to good use, you can be sure that women will be there in order to provide the needed services. This can be safe for a lot of women because they know that they are covered.

It can be safe for them because not a lot of people will take advantage of them while they are doing their jobs. It can be different for women who are commuting though. There are still a lot of things that the government has to do in order to make commuting safer for women not only in India but also in other parts of the world.

Railway jobs are just as safe for women as for men. Any type of transportation has an emergency plan if something bad should happen whether it be to the staff or passengers. If you want a job with a train or railway company, you should apply for it and they will most likely not discriminate against women. Many jobs for railway companies can be any of the jobs described.

They could drive the locomotive if they wanted to and had the qualifications for it. They could also be another type of engineer that works on the trains. There are also railway jobs that are not on the train. These are at the train station and could be the ticket taker or some other job at the station.
