Agroforestry is starting to make a big impact especially on some countries that are starting to get to know the benefits of this type of land management method. Agroforestry is currently being done in India. They are still doing some research about the type of shrubs and trees that should be planted among the crops in order to maximize the benefits that can be received from this system.

Some countries in Europe are also among the EURAF or European Agroforestry Federation. They are trying to promote the use of agroforestry for their crops. France is one example of this country but there are others that are also promoting this method through various programs and seminars.

Agroforestry is a system or process that every country of the world desires and should put to practice. However, some countries are really putting more effort into Agroforestry than other countries in the world. One of the major countries that practice Agroforestry is India. India was the first country to accept or adopt a comprehensive practice policy of Agroforestry. Another country that is credited to be a good practitioner of Agroforestry is the United States.

The country produced a professor, PK Nair, a professor at the University of Florida, who is considered as the father of Agroforestry. Prof PK Nair has really had a great influence on several continents, on the development of Agroforestry. Some other top-rated countries that have contributed to the development of Agroforestry include Germany, Brazil, Kenya, France, Australia, England, Canada, China, Spain, Netherlands, Costa Rica, Indonesia, and Mexico. The top three rated countries are the United States, India, and Germany, respectively.

It is a bit difficult to say certain countries are leading km agroforestry development as there is no proof for it.

However, we can tell for sure that many nations are embracing the idea of practicing agroforestry.

One of the first countries to push the concept of agroforestry is France. This started as well to solve the expanding problem of the ever-growing population.

Many countries in Africa and across Asia have adopted agroforestry as well. Vietnam and India are Asian countries that are already implementing agroforestry in agriculture.

African countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, Niger, and Nigeria are also implementing agroforestry.

Hopefully, in a few years, we will have more information and research done on agroforestry practices across the globe.

I think this is difficult to answer because the countries where agroforestry is used may not be those were the systems were thought out or developed. France is a country with the early push to develop agroforestry for solving the problems of feeding and maintaining a vastly growing population internationally. The first research on agroforestry was conducted at the University of Montpellier.

The idea was then developed at the heart of the Agropolis scientific community. Large areas in Africa and Asia, in countries such as Niger in Africa, Vietnam in Asia, are benefiting from the insitution of agroforestry practices. I cannot find which countries specifically use the systems most.
