The sun is a star. However, it’s not the only star in the galaxy. There are many other stars that are just like the sun. Some are bigger and others are smaller. There are two main stars that are near the sun. One of them is the Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B.

The closest star to the sun is Proxima. There are other stars that are close to the sun but they are further than Proxima. This is why these stars are considered the closest ones to the sun. According to astronomers, you can find them in the sky as well.
