Interestingly and surprisingly, an updated article appearing on Thrillist Food in 2018 with the title “The 25 Most Influential TV Chefs of All Time, Ranked” does not even include Anthony Bourdain. The article states the reason he is not included is “…we focused on chefs who have actually hosted instructional cooking shows instead of chef-influencers who haven't taught you how to cut an onion (e.g., Anthony Bourdain)…”. Elite Traveler also does not include Bourdain in its article “Top 10 Most Influential Chefs of the Past and Next Decade”. They do not explain why he is not included.
