Mark Antony is a well-known Roman who gained power of Rome after Caesar was murdered on the Ides of March in 44 BC. Even though there were about 60 senators who assassinated Julius Caesar, it would have been expected that Rome would have been happier. However, that was not the case. When Mark Antony gained power of Rome, he became friends with other generals including Octavian, Marcus Aemilius and Lepidus.

Then Mark Antony became friendly with Cleopatra who ruled Egypt. Mark Antony and Cleopatra tried to rule both Rome and Egypt which proved difficult. Senators started to go against this couple and believed they were too power-hungry. Over time, they became lovers and they killed themselves when they realized that trouble was going to happen.
