The Alpha Centauri is perhaps the nearest star system which is very close to our sun. However, it is still 4.3 light years away. The truth is that with current technology, it is nearly impossible to cover this much of a distance. This is because this distance is of about 25 trillion miles and there is not any possible way that a spaceship could travel that far.

For star travel, an entirely new technology must be used which involves spaceships travelling at a significant portion of that of light. At least, 20% of that of light’s speed let’s say. In that case, it would take us 20 years to reach Alpha Centauri.
