CaF2. Calcium fluoride is the inorganic compound of the elements calcium and fluorine. It is a white, insoluble solid. It occurs as the mineral fluorite, which is often deeply colored, owing it to impurities. A single calcium atom bonds with a single oxygen atom to make this compound.

It is most commonly used in detergents. Calcium fluoride is the principal source of fluorine, and its compounds. Pure calcium fluoride is used as a catalyst in dehydration and dehydrogenation. It is used to fluoridate drinking water. It is an odorless gray powder or granules.
