Baking soda is a very useful substance, with Sodium bicarbonate's chemical name, and has an IUPAC name of Sodium hydrogen carbonate. It is also referred to as bicarbonate of soda sometimes; a chemical compound with the chemical formula NaHCO3.

Basically, the pH value of baking soda is 9. The PH scale value ranges from 1 to 14, where 1 is the strongest acid value, 14 is the value for the strongest base, and value seven is considered neutral. A substance that has a neutral value of 7 is pure water. Now, since our baking soda has a pH value of 9, it considered being a weak base.

It is also important to note that the pH value of your baking soda substance can change when mixed with another substance. Sodium bicarbonate is a salt, a white crystalline solid, which appears more like a fine powder.

Baking soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate. Baking soda is known to be naturally alkaline. This is used for a wide variety of purposes. There are some people who would use baking soda in order to increase the pH level of their pool.

They can also increase the pools' overall alkalinity. When this happens, the pool becomes more stable. It will also look clearer, which means that it will be more enticing to those who would like to take a dip in the pool.

Baking soda can also be used for cleaning different items around the home. It can also be used as a home remedy by different people. The more that you learn about baking soda, the more curious you get about why you should have at your own home. The pH value of baking soda is around 8.3.

Baking soda is a chemical base with a pH value somewhere between 9 and 9.5 on the pH scale. The water solubility of baking soda is roughly 8 grams per every hundred grams of water. The pH of an item determines acidity from alkalinity.

The scale ranges from 1 to 15, with low values being acidic and high values being alkaline, and baking soda is mildly alkaline. Chemists like to keep baking soda in reach in case of accidental acid spills.

It is a favored cleaner due to its granular texture, which helps to scrub and evaporate in sediments and build up. It can cleanse surfaces, deodorize your refrigerator, or eliminate odors from carpets. It also plays an integral role in baking food such as cakes, muffins, and cookies, as it works as a leavening agent.

As can be seen on the diagram, the pH of baking soda is 9. The abbreviation pH stands for 'potential of Hydrogen,' and the pH scale ranges from 0 (hydrochloric acid) to 14 (social hydroxide), with 0 being the most acidic and 14 being the most basic. The neutral, or middle, point is 7; if a solution is lower than 7 it is an acid, and if it is higher than 7 it is a base, or Alkaline. The pH scale is logarithmic, meaning as the numbers increase, their values increase exponentially, meaning in this situation that pH 3 is ten times more acidic than pH 4.
