A workstation PC is a subset of the desktop PC family. Engineers, analysts, and designers primarily use them. A workstation is a computer that is made specifically for very high demanding professional work such as engineering, video editing, graphic designs, and other such jobs.

The workstation comes with elements that are powerful and can supply the needed performance including a good CPU, RAM, and GPU. Many people prefer building their workstations. Gaming machines tend to substitute a workstation. Gaming machines tend to optimize for fast, and gamers tend to get fast CPU’s, and fast GPU’s. A gaming PC is to build a game, and a workstation is built to handle professional stuff.

This is a question that haunts all PC users who want the best computer they can possibly get. So, let’s answer it.

The computer that is better depends on your requirement. And if you’re buying for leisure, you’ll definitely want a gaming rig. The thing is, a workstation is designed for things like VFX, 3d modeling, software development and other functions of the sort. Workstations tend to have ECC RAMs, which are heavier on an average consumers’ pockets and Intel Xeon processors.

I can assure you, you do not need a processor with 64 cores to run PUBG at 60 FPS. A helium-cooled Intel i9 with 16 cores can do that without even warming up.

Sure, you can slap a GTX 1080 or a Titan V on a workstation and call it a gaming rig but it’s unnecessary.

There are some people who want to try out 3d modeling by themselves. Well, let me tell you, the only downside to doing that on a gaming rig is an increase in rendering time, that too if it’s heavy.

The only differences between a gaming rig and a workstation PC come with their RAM and the processor specialization. One is for working and the other is for leisure. That’s all. Both computers are at the same computing capacity. In the end, it’s up to you.

P.S.: The most expensive gaming P.C. is half the price of the most expensive workstation.
