It was a clash between the Royal Air Force (RAF) of the United Kingdom and the German Air Force. It is also believed to be the first major military battle fought entirely by the Air force. The battle consists mostly of a strategic bombing campaign. The aim of the German Luftwaffe during the battle was to force Britain to force out of the war through the use of bombing.

The main bombers of the German Luftwaffe’s were the Heinkel He 111, Junkers Ju 88 and Do 17. The strategic bombing was successful at. First, the attacks continued into early August. The German forces suffered great loss in the Battle of Britain. Towards late August, Luftwaffe had lost over 600 of their aircraft. With the use of technology, Britain was more advanced in fighting with a systematic approach.
