The calves on a human being are the part of a person’s leg that is below the knee on the backside of the leg. Many bodybuilders try to build or make their body parts bigger including their calves. However, some research has shown that the size of a person’s calf is based solely on genetics. This means that the size of their calves are predetermined by their parents’ DNA.
Even though it is partially true that the calf muscles are genetic in regard to size, there are things that people can do to make their calf muscles bigger. Mainly, the lifter needs to exercise and lift weights and use their calf muscles to do that. There are some specific exercises that can be done to increase the size of the calf muscles.
