The first art school in the Philippines is the Academia de Dibujo y Pintura. It was established in the early 1900s, but there is little information on it for the open public. One of the buildings in the school belonged to Trinidad Pardo de Tavera, a physician, historian, and politician. He came from Spanish and Portuguese parents.

He went by T.H. Pardo de Tavera, and went by Tini in his childhood, but this is neither here nor there. This house is across the street from the central square of the town where the academia is situated. It is meant to support the academy, and is across the street from the Manila Cathedral - which sits on the edge of the center square.
