Antonio Luna was a man who was well-known in the Philippines because of his excellent skills as an army general. He fought in the Philippine-American War. This war took place for three years from 1899 to 1902. This was one of the most important war for the Philippines because this is when they gained their independence. He was born in 1866 and died on June 5, 1899.

He was known for being a good shooter and all he did during the war for his country’s freedom. However, he died at the beginning of the war which led to their freedom. He was assassinated by being ordered by Pataleon Garcia. However, Luna was best remembered for helping his country learn how to defend and protect itself to get freedom from America.

Antonio Luna was one of the most influential and efficient military leaders in Philippinehistory. His death was impactful since Philippines lost one of their most inspirational war heroes. He was very young and his anti-American sentiment kept the war morale alive even when the Phillipinian army was incurring losses.

His death was a blow to the morale of the army and the fact that he was killed by the other Philippinian military leaders was confirmation of the fact that other military leaders weren't keen on the fight for freedom. It was a confirmation that they were Pro-American even during the war. This is why soon after his death the Phillipinian army surrendered.
