CNS stands for central nervous system. In the central nervous system, the body parts that are included are the nerves, brain and spinal cord. These are important parts to the body. Geriatric patients often have problems with their central nervous system because for one reason is that they are getting up in age.

When people get older, their bodies are more fragile including their organ systems like the central nervous system. In this case, if this geriatric patient is prescribed with a medication called Cimetidine or Tagmet, they may be suffering from heartburn.

Heartburn is the discomfort of a burning feeling in the heart or around the heart which is sometimes caused by eating poor food. One of the side effects of ingesting this medicine is agitation.
