The Berlin Wall was built in Germany in 1961 and was finally taken down in 1989. It was a concrete wall that divided East from West Germany. Many guards and posts were there to stop people from trying to cross the Berlin Wall. At one point, East Germany was considered communist and West German was considered democratic.

So prior to 1961, many Easterners from East Germany would move to West Germany in order to live in a government that allowed its citizens to make decisions. On August 13, 1961, the entire wall was built over that one night. The East German government did not want people from their side to move over to West Germany. Some people would risk their lives during these 28 years to get to West Germany.

China became a communist country because of the war and fighting the people faced. As a result of the war the people were Vulnerable which gave the communist party a chance to rule.

Chairman Mao Zedong of the communist party seized the opportunity and took power from the Kuomintang party when they had become weak and trying to recover from the World War II.

At the time of his ruling the economic in China was slow. Chairman Mao Zedong created a new party which was the Republic of China in 1 October 1949.

It implies American support for nations allegedly threatened by Soviet communism. The Truman Doctrine became the foundation of American foreign policy which led to the formation of NATO in 1949, which is a military alliance that is still in effect.
