This is incorrect. In professional baseball, the pitcher is allowed 8 warm up pitches before an inning.

In HS and NCAA it is 5.

In baseball, when you say the word “pitch” this means that the ball should be delivered by the pitcher. Another notable difference is the type of ball used. They may look similar in the beginning but if you would hold them, you will notice that the cricket ball is definitely heavier and also harder.
