2. Narrator: We will be talking about devices with standby powers or the so called standby mode. Standby powers are the features being offered by most electronic devices and appliances nowadays. The best example is our television. When we turn them off, they will not totally shut down, they will be on standby mode so whenever we change or minds and watch again, we just switch it back. Unless we unplug them, that's the time they'll completely shut down. Anyway, most of our appliances especially our microwaves are actually in the standby mode for more than ninety percent of the time. Most appliances are said to be consuming around or more than twenty watts of power when they are at standby mode but then due to the evolution of technology, they enabled one watt and less. Although this is available, the problem arises from the manufacturers because it is their choice to either install it or not.
