It might be tempting to change your topic or use only the first few results. Broadening your topic will bring back more information and that can be very frustrating and not helpful. Narrowing your question is the better strategy. Ask a librarian or your instructor for help in narrowing your topic or question.
The library databases are not freely accessible off-campus. You can use either a library barcode number (on the back of your student ID card if you have checked out library materials) OR your Star ID username and password.
The databases don't usually understand the term 'with' but they do understand 'and'. 'Children or diabetes' will list results that have some articles about children and some articles about diabetes but not necessarily about the two together. 'Children and diabetes' is the best choice here.
DVDs and Ebooks are in the catalog. At this time, full-text journal articles are not available in the library catalog.
Peer-reviewed or scholarly journals are known for their bibliographies or references. They are not used for current events or colorful photographs.
